O:pen is an inclusive organisation open to professionals working in pensions who believe in the importance of promoting and celebrating LGBTQ+ diversity and inclusion within the industry. We welcome LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies from all parts of the pensions industry and our members work in a range of financial and professional services, from trusteeship, law and consultancies to communications and pensions administration.

Our mission is to connect and empower professionals of all sexualities and gender identities working in the pensions industry and create an inclusive and welcoming environment where individuals and firms can share career development and networking opportunities and support positive change for LGBTQ+ pensions professionals in the workplace.

Creating an open and inclusive environment to foster discussion about issues relating to sexuality and gender identity that impact the workplace
Sharing best practices between LGBTQ+ employee network groups across the industry
Facilitating collective responses to LGBTQ+ issues within the industry, in particular around improving the representation and visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals with intersectional identities
Fostering a platform for professional LGBTQ+ people to meet, inspire, celebrate and mentor each other and raise the profile of LGBTQ+ people within the pensions industry community
Promoting active and effective allyship both from within the community and from non- LGBTQ+ defining allies by creating a constructive environment for allies to listen, learn and amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ people
Providing access and visibility to LGBTQ+ role models in the industry.
